  • Are you a yoga teacher wanting to incorporate more authenticity and depth into your classes and practice?

  • Do you want be part of the change, moving from cultural appropriation into appreciation?

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THIS ONLINE COURSE

  • SANSKRIT FOR YOGA POSTURES + PRONUNCIATIONS

Just like learning any language, the more you hear, the more you’ll remember! We’ll go through an easy to remember forumla + repetition drills of postures along with awareness of commonly mispronounced postures to look out for!

Katharine- “I feel like I've been given a cheat sheet! I hear myself thinking of the asana in sanskrit when I practice now. I feel so much more confident saying asana correctly which is important to me as Sanskrit is a sacred language.”

  • YOGA MYTHOLOGY

Why are postures named after objects, nature, people and animals? What do they represent? You’ll learn the incredible mythological stories behind your favourite yoga postures and the yoga philosophy they represent so you can go deeper when you visit them!

Bryanna- “Hearing the stories involved in the postures facilitates teaching for me because I first learned yoga through a westernized approach of purely stretching. Being able to apply the mythology into my life is deeply inspiring and calls many changes into action.”

  • MANTRA AND SACRED TEXTS

Learn about how mantra can elevate your practice and more importantly, where they come from and how to use them in your practice with reference to sacred texts! This module will be lead by expert and resident SOSA teacher, Manoj!

Kelly- “I was surprised that I enjoyed this module as much as I did, as I typically find chanting to be quite awkward. I think, part of that is due to a lack of understanding of why chanting is happening. This brought everything together for me”
